In an effort to improve our ground strokes, we recently explored the backend of the WTA field. Thanks to a well-placed photog at Wimbledon ‘07, we discovered tennis lovely Viktoriya Kutuzova (below, left) and my forehand has enjoyed a crisp finish ever since.

At the time I proclaimed that Ms. Kutuzova had the sweetest seat I’ve seen on tour. But thanks to some new photos sent to me this week of another pro tennis player (above, right), Kutuzova may have a serious challenger coming from behind.

Most of the photos below are also from Wimbledon last year, and feature 19-year-old Czech player Nicole Vaidisova, who sadly just lost in her latest competitive match in New Zealand yesterday.
Vaidisova turned pro at just 15 and is the 12th-youngest player ever to be ranked in the Top 10, topping out at #10 in 2007. Currently, she’s ranked #40.
The guy who is tapping that? Some Michael Bloomberg-looking dude named Radek Stepanek. And that’s after he dumped Martina Hingis.
