Look. Before the 4th down play, Bill checks around the league, and here's what he (and I) see:

The Colts with their talent have pretty much cinched home field in the playoffs.

Then behind him he sees the following:

A lame Miami team that came thisclose to losing to the Buccaneers AND who now have a lame Wildcat..

The New York Jets who crashed and burned...again...versus, who, Jacksonville?

And Buffalo....

Brady could go down again and The Pats would STILL win the division. They ll get at least one home playoff game. So.....

WTF. If we can't get two yards, 72 inches on slightly singed indoor CrapTurf, we don't belong in the league.

And so he goes for it. And loses.

ESPN's Trent Dilfer, whos expertiese included Ray Lewis handing him a Super Bowl, wanted Bill hung from the highest yard arm.

Trent. Its The Pats. They're still in. He took a chance. And Lost. Its not going to kill them..

In fact...it might make them stronger.

What We Learned Sunday Night:

Belichick is not a genius sometimes. :(

And this from a LONG time Patriots fan. Most devastating loss since Super Bowl XLI.
