VOLLEYBALL PLAYER ACCUSED OF KILLING NEWBORN BABY: A former college volleyball player was charged on Tuesday for killing her newborn baby:

Teri Rhodes baby killer

FOX SPORTS reports that 18-year-old Teri Rhodes, recently a sophomore at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA, has been accused of suffocating the child as soon as it was born.

Back on August 12, Rhodes left morning volleyball practice, saying she wasn’t feeling well. When she returned to her campus apartment, she gave birth in the bathroom.

According to the criminal complaint, Rhodes then shoved the newborn girl into a plastic bag and left her on the floor, while Rhodes continued showering in the bathtub.

Rhodes kept the pregnancy secret from her friends and teammates. Two days before the birth, she passed a sports physical, but when asked if she was pregnant, she told the doctor she “didn’t think so.”

When investigators checked her home computer, they discovered recent Internet searches on such topics as “what can kill a fetus, and “alternative methods of ending pregnancy.”

Rhodes is being charged with homicide, abusing a corpse and concealing the death of a child.
