Coby Karl pulled some double duty on Tuesday, playing for both the Lakers and their D-League team - and only 90 minutes apart.
INSIDE THE LAKERS has the story of Coby’s big day. The son of Nuggets coach George was called up from the Los Angeles D-Fenders - but first things first.
Karl spent 37 minutes on the Staples Center court for the ‘Fenders, scoring 15 points in a win over Tulsa. As the game finished up around 6 p.m., Coby hit the showers and came right back out for warm-ups with the big-league boys before their 7:30 tipoff with the Hawks.
When the contest became a blowout, Coby hit the court once again, playing in the final 6 minutes and tallying 5 points.
Coby became only the 2nd player ever to play for their NBA team and it’s developmental squad on the same day, joining Lakers teammate Jordan Farmar to accomplish such an exhausting feat.
After his tiring Tuesday, Karl was out of the line-up for Wednesday’s showdown with the Suns. Probably just sleeping it off.
