Coastal Carolina players kicked off football team for drug and gun possession

S.C. COLLEGE WAVES BYE-BYE TO PLAYERS WAVING GUNS: Three Carolina football players have been kicked off the team for drug and gun possession. Not from the Carolina Panthers, not from North or South Carolina, but from Coastal Carolina:

WPDE in Myrtle Beach, SC, reports that the three were expelled from the Chanticleers program as a result of their arrests early Sunday morning.

Defensive backs Eric Brown & Mario Tynes and wide receiver Ricky Johnson were part of a joyride in the wee hours, when witnesses saw men in their vehicle “flashing guns out the window.”

Police pulled the car over, and found some pot to go along with the players’ pistols. Five joyriders altogether were each charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Each suspect was slapped with a $10,000 bond. For the Coastal footballers, cashing out their scholarships to pay for it won’t work, as their free rides have been revoked.
