The DETROIT FREE PRESS feels the burn from Clemson coach Tommy Bowden, whose Tigers beat Furman 38-10 on Saturday.
After the win, media members questioned Bowden about certain game stats. The 1-AA Paladins out-passed the Tigers, recovered two onside kicks, and held Clemson’s offense to 60 yards rushing, while recording five sacks.
However, Bobby’s boy had a quick response: “We won. That’s not something Lloyd Carr can say.”

Ouch. Furman is a member of the Southern Conference, the same as the Michigan-mauling Mountaineers, who waltzed out the Big House with a 34-32 triumph to start the season.
It should be a fun time when Tommy & Lloyd inevitably lead their teams to meet in the Champs Sports Bowl.
