Thanks to an indecisive jury, Chris Henry is off the hook for the time being.
WKRC-TV reports that the assault case against the former Bengals receiver resulted in a mistrial on Tuesday, when jurors couldn’t agree on a verdict. Of the eight members of the jury, “they had six jurors voting for acquittal, two voting for conviction and none could be swayed.”
In addition to temporarily escaping a guilty verdict, Henry was also given a little more good news from the judge:
He told Henry he could removed the electronic monitoring device he’s been wearing but he’s been ordered to stay away from the victim and the witnesses in the case.
So he can’t be sociable. At least he’s free from his e-cuffs.
A new pre-trial hearing has been set for Henry for next Tuesday, July 8. Hopefully for his return courthouse visit, Chris is more careful about where he parks.
