For those not familiar with the transfer window, soccer clubs can acquire other clubs' players only in January or the summer. The ban is for the next two transfer windows -- and the most recent transfer window closed this past Monday -- so Chelsea cannot sign players in 2010. The BBC was more specific in its lead: Chelsea have been banned from signing any new players until January 2011.
