BOBCATS BRINGING IN BUCKS WITH COURTSIDE SEATING: You’d think a team ranked 4th-worst in league attendance would have trouble selling additional seats. But you’d be wrong.
SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY purchases news that the Charlotte Bobcats have created 8 more courtside seats to let fans enjoy the sights & sounds & smells of NBA action up-close.
The pricey seats - 4 for $1,000 per game, 4 for $600 per game - have already been sold out for the 2007-08 season. The new chairs at Bobcats Arena will sit between the team benches and scorer’s table.
It’s hoped that the sideline seats will help generate over $250,000 in additional revenue.
If the Bobcats can somehow make all 19,000 arena ass-holders into courtside can-grabbers, attendance problems would be solved, and Robert Johnson can afford even higher produciton values for BET.
