Four days after announcing the breakup of his five-year relationship with Jenny McCarthy and with McCarthy having recently announced plans to write a book about infidelity in relationships, actor Jim Carrey came to the defense of Tiger Woods today on Twitter.com with two Tweets to his 600,000+ followers:
No wife is blind enough to miss that much infidelity. Elin had 2 b a willing participant on the ride 4 whatever reason. kids/lifestyle ;^)
Tiger Woods owes nothing 2 anyone but himself. 2 please his father he gave up his childhood and his freedom in the world. That’s enough!—>
While the premise of now-former Carrey girlfriend McCarthy’s infidelity book is apparently to be based on stories submitted by her own Twitter followers, Carrey’s Tweets defending Tiger are certainly interesting timing.
Also today it was reported that McCarthy is shuttering her school for autistic children, which reportedly may have been related to her breakup with Carrey.
I’m not saying that Carrey’s relationship with McCarthy ended because of infidelity, but Carrey’s perspective on the Tiger-Elin situation seems more than just a little warped - at least to me.
On Tiger-Elin, how many of Carrey’s 600,000+ Twitter followers would indict Elin as a complicit participant in Tiger’s trysts with pornstars and random cocktail waitresses? Probably the same number who would side with Sean Penn’s portrayal of Fidel Castro as a heroic figure. And laud Danny Glover’s unabiding love for Hugo Chavez.
