What a difference a week made for the Cardinals. One week after getting blown out by the Jets and having receiver Anquan Boldin get knocked silly at the end of the game, Arizona turned the tables and was the one putting the hurt on their opponents, in this case handing the Buffalo Bills a 41-17 defeat.
And I mean that they put the hurt on the Bills literally: Buffalo QB Trent Edwards was knocked out of the game on the team’s third play of the series after a hard hit by Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson. The God of concussions can take away and he can give, too.
The rest of the NFL action in the afternoon games was a bit of anticlimax after the general chaos that marked the early games. The Cowboys struggled mightily to put away the winless Bengals - at home! - before Terrell Owens helped Dallas pull away late for a 31-22 victory. And no, Chad Ocho Cinco did not get the chance to stomp on the star.
Meanwhile, Randy Moss and Matt Cassel finally started to get on the same page, with Moss catching five ball for 111 yards in the Patriots’ win over the 49ers. And Denver beat Tampa Bay in a game that I’m sure was fascinating to the team’s friends and family.

So a team that gives up 56 points to the Jets comes back and hangs 41 on the no-longer undefeated Bills? What's up with this league?

The funny thing is that we didn’t even get to see what Seth Petruzelli is made of, it was over as soon as it began.

Guess Trent Edwards wasn't the only Stanford player to take a beating this weekend. Go Irish!
