In one of the more curious moves of the opening day of free agency, Lions defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was apparently dealt to the Cincinnati Bengals, until he wasn’t. The trade was nullified for reasons as yet unclear, reports the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER.
Meanwhile, the Browns needed surrendered corner Leigh Boddin and a 3rd round pick for the 340-pound former Texas standout.
Mentioning Rogers, of course, gives the thin pretext to throw up the clip of his galumphing interception return for a touchdown against Denver last season. Like Homer Simpsons on the treadmill, it’s like watching a lava lamp.
The sad thing is that with the departure of Ted Washington, this is actually a downgrade in terms of sheer bulk for the Browns’ D-line.
