The headline of this article is misleading. Nowhere in the radio interview with Colin Cowherd does Joe Buck say anything about not liking baseball anymore.

All he says is that 1) On average, baseball games take too long, and b) the "Game of the Week" on Fox isn't nearly as special as it used to be simply because there are "15 games on every night of the week."

Bottom line is that MLB, NBA, and NHL are all in the same boat insofar as TV audiences don't transcend regional boundaries unlike football. Conversely, MLB is still gigantic in cities whose team is in a pennant chase. Just look at the Milwaukee Brewers - 35 straight sellouts. On the flip side, by September 1 baseball is pretty much dead in cities whose teams are out of it. It's not rocket science.

I don't need ball players or broadcasters to love their jobs. However, I do need them to care about doing an excellent job. Try that out for awhile, Joe. See if you like it.

Perhaps Joe Buck should stop calling baseball games then. He's boring.
