Browns CB Tries To Flee On Foot, Cops Catch Him

One Cleveland Browns player wanted to prove that the Cincinnati Bengals wasn’t the only NFL franchise in Ohio to feature felons on their roster.

Kenny Wright Cleveland Browns mug shot

BROWNS GAB via KRIV-TV in Houston reports that cornerback Kenny Wright was arrested Thursday after trying to run away from the police.

Authorities in the Texas town of Pearland say that Wright was being investigated for a disturbance in the police department’s parking lot, when he took off and fled on foot.

The quarter-mile pursuit ended a short time later when Wright was caught in a nearby subdivision. If the guy can’t outrun the cops, how’s he gonna do against the Steelers’ receiving corps?

Police also discovered 1.875 ounces of marijuana in Kenny’s vehicle. (Checking his mug shot above, we would have never guessed.)

Wright has been charged with unlawful restraint, evading arrest and marijuana possession - which could lead up to a $4,000 fine and one year in jail if convicted.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Roy Castillo was proud of his Pearland police:

“We had people on scene pretty fast, and I believe because of our quick response time and the mental and physical toughness of our officers to catch offenders, we were able to get him in custody quickly and safely.”

Maybe the Browns should release Wright and sign up a few of these cops, instead.
