I gathered from the show that the kid picked the golf up on his own; it wasn't forced upon him by Mom or Dad.  He watches old tapes past majors tournaments and can talk about all the famous golfers. He has a golf instructor who lost an arm in a boating accident. It was very cool to see. This kid was featured on a show on the MOJO network.
