If Cowboys fans were hoping for less Jessica Simpson in 2008, well, it’s going to be a long season. The team’s postseason struggles were blamed, in part, on Simpson forcing boyfriend and Dallas quarterback Tony Romo down to Mexico for a quick holiday, even though Terrell Owens implored us not to jump to such conclusions.
Now, with the Cowboys off to a worrisome 0-2 preseason start, Simpson’s more ubiquitous than ever. And not only is she seemingly always around, owner Jerry Jones thinks it’s good for the team.
From D MAGAZINE:
“Tony’s relationship with Jessica Simpson doesn’t bother me at all. It’s good for the franchise-adding sizzle and show business and interest-and it doesn’t affect Tony’s performance in any way.”
Of course, this is the man who unceremoniously fired legendary coach Tom Landry, so take that for what it’s worth.
In other, more inane Simpson news, according to the always reliable ENTERTAINMENTWISE.COM, Nick Lachey’s ex thought she was carrying ‘lil Romo after misreading a pregnancy test. Apparently, the news was not well received by Tony’s side of the family:
“There was a huge fight on July 18 at the Romo home. Jessica and Tony thought she was pregnant and happily announced it to the family,” a source told the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
“The news resulted in dead silence. Then Tony’s dad Ramiro said, ‘You’re not married. This is crazy!’ Tony’s mom Joan joined in, demanding, ‘How can you do this to us?’”
