BOWIE BACKSTABBING AARON MAY GIVE SELIG AN OUT: No doubt Bud Selig continues to mull the excuses he will likely roll out when he blows Barry Bonds off the night of his chemically-induced home run number 756.

One out Bud will surely hit into with the media, which is mentioned today in the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS by Daniel Brown, will be the fact that now-largely-reviled former MLB Commissioner Bowie Kuhn blew off Hank Aaron’s home run #715 in 1974.

But at least dunderhead Kuhn had a *very good* reason that night: He was attending a dinner for the Cleveland Indians fan club.

Brown recounts that after Aaron broke the record in Atlanta, when the commissioner’s name was announced that night at Fulton County Stadium, “a crowd of 53,775 at Atlanta Stadium booed. Aaron smiled.”
