OUTLET UNAWARE COSTAS DOESN’T WORK FOR HIS MONEY: Don Imus’ seldom-heard morning slot on WFAN-AM in New York remains open, and now Neil Best of NEWSDAY is floating the laughable notion today that Bob Costas could be a candidate for the job.

But Best also correctly notes: “Two people who know Costas scoffed last night at the notion of him agreeing to work mornings full time. There is believed to be at least one other serious candidate being discussed.”

Bob Costas, who is the least seen/heard and highest paid media personality in history (thanks to Dick Ebersol’s chronic willingness to overrate the importance of sports media talent), would never, ever actually consider giving up his high-paid gig of sitting on the sidelines.

Plus, as everyone knows, the only thing Costas has ever done five days a week is criticize other media types who actually work for a living.
