Bo Schembechler Dies on Eve of The Game

On the eve of the greatest game in the rivalry’s history, the man who was singularly responsible for bringing Michigan back to prominence passed away this morning at the age of 77.

In 1969, Schembechler led the Wolverines to an upset victory over Woody Hayes’ Buckeyes. This sparked the “Ten Year War” that elevated the already storied UM/OSU rivalry into perhaps college football’s greatest annual grudge match.

If you’re in Columbus this evening, stay home.

Once The Dead Schembechlers take the stage at tonight’s “Hate Michigan Rally,” the environment may escalate from organized chaos to riots and bedlam in less time than it’d take for Maurice Clarett to spell Schembechler.
