The 53-year-old Drummond achieved the ace during a steady rain on the 4th hole at the Mahoning Valley Country Club in Pennsylvania, witnessed by her husband/coach and two other friends.
“They were saying, ‘It’s a great shot’, and then I heard it hit the pin.”
After losing her sight due to diabetes, she took up the game 15 years ago. Within three years, Drummond became the first female member of the United States Blind Golfers Association, and now sits on the group’s board of directors.

The USBGA searched through their records, and concluded that Drummond became the first completely blind female golfer to snag a hole-in-one.
She acknowledged, “We looked everywhere, and haven’t been able to find anyone else.”
