Arguably the second-biggest bucking under pressure of the weekend (we’re looking at you, Marc-Andre Fleury) came on the LPGA tour earlier today.
Erica Blasburg was a co-leader heading into the last round of the Corning Classic. And that’s when the wheels fell off the wagon. Blasburg shot a 79 earlier today to fall from first to a six-way tie for 37th. She earned $8,066 on the weekend for her “effort.” Her 79 was the worst score on the day aside from Irene Cho, who finished last.
Leta Lindley won the event with a final-round 67, and took home $225,000 in prize money. That’s a difference of $216,934. Whoa. That’s a lot of shoes.
