NCAA FBS football is in realization mode that their BCS will cease to exist because of either:

A. The money will not be there anymore

B. They are an anti-trust or "restraint of trade" lawsuit away from being disbanded by the courts.

FBS football would make a lot more money in a playoff…and there will still be plenty of interest in the regular season. The only meaningless games in FBS football are the 33 bowl games not named the BCS National Championship

The only solution is for fans to stop watching BCS games. A boycott. I know that in the short term it punishes the kids; and that sucks. But…you have to break a few eggs to make an omlette.
