Bama Versus Miles: He’ll Eat Anything To Survive

After his LSU Tigers beat Alabama 24-21 Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, LSU coach Les Miles let us in on a little secret:

“I have a little tradition that humbles me as a man, that lets me know that I’m a part of the field and part of the game. You should have seen some games before this.”

Just what is that “tradition“?

Eating grass.

More postgame Miles Saturday: “I can tell you one thing …

… The grass in Tiger Stadium tastes best.”

LSU player Russell Shepard has long known his coach as an omnivore:

“I see him do it (eat grass) every day. That’s Coach Miles. He eats that grass. I guess he says it has a lot of protein.”

Funny that Shepard brought up protein.

If earlier this season was any indication, it appears Miles doesn’t always nourish those protein needs with plant matter.
