BALTO BALLPARK WORKERS’ PLIGHT BLOWIN’ IN THE WIND: The BALTIMORE SUN reports “11 current and former temporary workers who will begin a hunger strike Sept. 3 to secure higher wages for those who pick up the trash at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.”
The hunger strike is being organized by something called the “United Workers Association” (UWA) and is designed “to pressure the Maryland Stadium Authority to meet its demand for better pay.”

The UWA is setting up a site outside the ballpark to house the hunger strikers and is also planning an evening vigil and concert to bring awareness to the plight of those who devote themselves to the demise of the flying hot dog wrapper.
