Ballpark Name Not Used By Minor League Team

ANGELS ROOKIE TEAM RAISING HELL OVER BALLPARK NAME: A minor league team and a local university in Utah are at odds over the naming rights of their shared baseball field:

Orem Owlz

From the PROVO DAILY HERALD, Utah Valley State College recently awarded naming rights of their ballpark to local car dealer Brent Brown. However, the co-tenant Orem Owlz don’t seem to give a hoot about the new moniker.

Instead of using the school-recognized “Brent & Kim Brown Ballpark”, the Angels’ rookie league affiliate officially refers to the field as “Home of the Owlz“.

The Owlz also let the local media know that if they don’t follow suit with the team’s choice of ballpark naming, they will be kept away from any team access.

Brown stuff

In addition, reporters are not allowed to wear brown suits in the press box, put brown mustard on their hot dogs, nor mention the St. Louis Browns in any circumstance.
