BAD NEWS BEARS KID STAR SMOKES OUT CINEMATIC ROLES: The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER has the exciting news of the continued cinematic comeback of a screen legend.

Jackie Earle Haley, who played Kelly Leak in “The Bad News Bears”, is following up his performance as a child molestor (imagine that?) in the film “Little Children,” with three more major film roles.

One of those parts will be to play a fan who wins a basketball-throwing contest in Will Ferrell’s “Semi-Pro”.

Haley also will play an abusive father in the film “Winged Creatures” (which has a cast of Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Forest Whitaker and Guy Pearce). And finally he’ll portray a corrupt judge in the movie “Bolden!”

Shockingly, no news yet of Haley landing the title role of the much-anticipated Steve Nash biopic.

And how all these roles in no way include air hockey, prepubescent sex and/or dirt bikes is beyond me.
