Bad Day? Least You Didn’t Bet $163,000 On France

From noted British soccer blogger Tim Stewart today:

Punter lost $163,000 betting France to win the World Cup

Looks god-awful now, but far from the riskiest wager provided by the betting website William Hill.

Sharpe reports that William Hill are offering odds of 11/4 that Fabio Capello will announce his resignation as England manager before midnight on Wednesday (English time).

‘If England fail to beat Slovenia and are eliminated from the World Cup there will be an immediate outcry from fans - it seems unlikely that the manager could survive the fall-out from such a humiliation, but whether he would walk straight away is open to speculation’

Betting for the French and against the English?

Lafayette and Washington

Sounds familiar.
