The agent for Missouri basketball coach Mike Anderson, Jimmy Sexton, commented today on WHBQ-AM in Memphis about the status of negotiations between his client and the school amidst rumors that Arkansas was interested in acquiring Anderson’s services.

“We’ve been in discussions with them for several weeks now. Those are ongoing discussions. Nothing is imminent this second so I can’t really speak to it.
“There should be some resolution to that in the next few days.”
Sexton did not mention Arkansas in his comments.
Last week a source who spoke to Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden about Anderson’s contract situation told me that Alden had agreed to bump the coach’s salary to $2 million per season but would not go any further.
Last Friday I reported, “A head coach at a major program told me he was told by a coach Arkansas had contacted about the job that Mike Anderson will not be offered the job.”
