NEWSDAY has the sad news today that the venerable Scores strip club in New York is shutting down.
The famed Manhattan strip club that has been a second home to area sports figures for more than a decade, has announced it will be shutting its doors at he end of this month.
Club owners blamed both the weak economy and the loss of a liquor license for the club’s demise.
If you want the truest indication of just how hard Wall Street has been hit the past three months, look no further.
While athletes patronizing the establishment probably helped the club more from a marketing standpoint, you can bet the big money came from hounds running Hedge Funds. (And sports bloggers?)
Now the question is, where will A-Rod find “shemale, muscular-type” girlfriends?
And who will Oscar De La Hoya crossdress with?
And what of the Knicks homecourt advantage?
Well, at least Scores girls have someone they can sympathize about shutting down with:

The other sad thing is I just happen to be in New York City at the moment and now I’ll have to find alternate plans for the next two nights. Actually, it’s no biggie, I planned to camp out for sweet seats to “Maury”anyway.
