As the Olympics fade from view, at least for many sports-saturated Americans, PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem has a fantastical idea to bring the formerly great Games back into the stateside spotlight: pro golfers in the Olympics.
From Finchem’s blog this week: “Since then we have continued to examine the various issues presented by golf being an Olympic sport. While there remain questions to be answered and issues to be resolved, I believe the time is now right to move forward.”
We, of course, the Finchem’s plan is a grand idea.
It is a real shame though for guys like cancer stick-suckers John Daly and Angel Cabrera that golfers weren’t admitted to the Beijing Games this summer. They would’ve had a huge edge, being already so well-acclimated to inhaling pollution.
