Hogs Forget Non-Compete Clause In Nutt’s Contract

HOGS FORGOT NON-COMPETE CLAUSE; NUTT HIRED BY REBS: The ASSOCIATED PRESS reports today that Houston Nutt’s Brinks truck just pulled up to Oxford, MS, and has parked.

Hours after being gifted a $3.65M check in a buyout from Arkansas, Nutt was hired by Ole Miss as football coach today. With that $3.65 million buyout, Nutt will also receive a five-year contract from Ole Miss for close to $2 million a year.Jim Harris of the ARKANSAS BUSINESS TIMES has this today: “Who would have thought Arkansas would agree to pay the coach $3.65 million to leave and then not include a non-compete clause in the deal?‘”

Based on the unceasing harassment endured by Nutt at the snouts of Hogs fans over the years, we can certainly understand why they’d be miffed by the coach moving within the conference. Right, that makes perfect sense!
