Entire Town Offered Free Tix to AFL Playoff Game

It’s customary for sports teams to hold special promotional nights honoring local communities. But an Arena Football League team is taking it one step further by offering free playoff tickets to an entire town.

Philadelphia Soul Arena Football League intro

CNBC’s Darren Rovell reports that the Philadelphia Soul is making the unusual offer to the residents of Morrisville, PA - population 10,096 - to come on out to the Wachovia Center on July 5 at no charge (well, except for parking & concessions).

The free ticket offer is part of Chris Jackson Day, a celebration of the Soul receiver that calls Morrisville his hometown. And since the Soul has 8,000 season ticket holders for the 16,000-seat arena, the team figures they would have enough room to accommodate an entire town at Wachovia.

Morrisvillians hoping to take advantage of this incredible offer can pick up their free stubs this Tuesday at the community’s Williamson Park. Who else could pass on an opportunity to sit in the same stands as Jon Bon Jovi & Ron Jaworski for free?
