ANGELS’ ROOKIE HOME LIFE APPEARS TO BE A BIT CAGEY: The way the Angels’ Reggie Willits has been hitting, you’d think the AL Rookie of the Year candidate was living in a batting cage. Well…you’re right:
Back in 2003, Reggie and his wife Amber decided to build a house near family in Oklahoma. The batting cage was the first section to be built, and thanks to Willits’ minor-league salary at the time, turned out to be the only section built.
During that span, the Willits brought forth young son Jaxon, who’s spent the first two years of his life in their home, home in the cage (where the deer and the antelope play - usually split-squad games).
But now with a major-league paycheck courtesy of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California, USA, North America, Western Hemisphere, Earth, Solar System, Milky Way Galaxy…*gasp*…the family can complete the full house.
Or at least put in a couple of luxury boxes.
