An Alabama football player was arrested just because he was working his way through college - as a drug dealer.

But fret not, Tide fans - although the arrest was made in Tuscaloosa, the accused wasn’t a member of Nick Saban’s roster.

WVTM-TV in Birmingham reports that Stillman College offensive lineman Torrin Hudson (#70 in your game-day program) was arrested on Tuesday, after selling some marijuana and cocaine to some undercover cops - and then trying to make a run for it:

According to Tuscaloosa Police Department spokesman Capt. Greg Kosloff, undercover officers with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force bought drugs from Hudson at about 7 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of Oscar Baxter Drive and Alabama Highway 69 South. Officers approached Hudson and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. Hudson threw a large amount of drugs out of his car, which officers later recovered.

Good thing Hudson isn’t Stillman’s staring QB. And with a 6′3″, 350-pound frame to haul around, Torrin wasn’t going to get very far, even with the help of some wheels.

Hudson has been charged with trafficking cocaine and marijuana, distribution of a controlled substance and resisting arrest - all under the umbrella of bail set at $281,500.

Torrin should know better than to mess around with such stuff. Best he learn the lessons of another Alabama college player who’s life was destroyed by drugs - Keith McCants.
