Much has been said and written about Alex Rodriguez’s mighty ego, but did we ever think that it would reach, literally, mythic proportions? In the greatest item I have read today, US WEEKLY tells us that a former Rodriguez girlfriend says that the Yankee had two portraits painted of himself as a centaur, and that they’re hanging over his bed. Enjoy that nightmare fuel, America.
As we know from our mythology, the centaur is a half-human, half-horse composition caught between the two natures, often pestering other gods such as Hercules. The ancient Greeks tell us that it was born when the god Centaurus mated with a horse. Yes, there’s a lot of that going around, even to this day. At least if you live in South Carolina.
A former Rodriguez fling remembers seeing portraits of the slugger, 34, as a centaur hanging over his bed.
“He was so vain,” his ex tells Us Weekly. “He had not one, but two painted portraits of himself as a centaur. You know, the half man, half horse figure?”
Adds the ex, “It was ridiculous.”
The US WEEKLY item goes on to tell us that Rodriguez’s current girlfriend, Kate Hudson, is trying to dial down his enormous ego. Not helping is the fact that she discusses their sex life to everyone she encounters.
“They love sex!” a pal tells Us Weekly of the pair who began dating in May. “They talk about it all day. Kate gets graphic talking about his body, even to her parents.”
Ack. The tragedy is, I was eating when I first read that.
We’ll wait and see how the Yankees ultimately blow it in the Series to determine who gets painted as the Satyr.

If he makes big 2 out World Series game winning hits he can hang anything he wants on his wall and has the right to tell all haters out there to screw themselves. He has a big ego because he is the MAN! Go yankeess and beat the bums on their own turf. Eat a cheesesteak during the game while you’re at it.
