Say what you will about Madonna; at least she had Alex Rodriguez home by bedtime. I wasn’t going to write anything about this brewing A-Rod late night carousing story, because staying out until 2:30 a.m. for a pro baseball player isn’t that big of a deal, even if you have been benched due to fatigue. One man’s 2:30 a.m. is another man’s 9 p.m., depending on when you started your day; it really doesn’t matter as long as you get your eight or nine hours of Sealy Posturpedic Beauty Sleep.
But this is too good to pass up. Our protagonist, apparently still not fully recovered from
injecting illegal dr a hip injury, was struggling through an 0-for-15 electrical outage when he was benched for the Yankees’ two weekend games with the Marlins, due to “fatigue.” He was then seen out on the town Saturday night with girlfriend Kate Hudson. And not in the “let’s see a PG-rated movie and have a quick bite of dinner” kind of way, as it turns out. Lap dances, anyone?
From the MIAMI HERALD:
Yes, yes Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson partied at the Fontainebleau following A-Rod’s benchwarming during the Yankees and the Marlins game Friday night. According to our tattle, the duo wanted to be seen and were they ever, pawing and prodding each other like Kevin Federline at an all you can eat buffet. Says our source, the duo was ”all over each other at Blade where they were sucking face for like an hour without coming up for air.” The snitch also tells us Hudson was acting like “an out of control teenager, giving A-Rod what seemed to be a lapdance.” We hear Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn isn’t too thrilled about her daughter’s behavior lately either but from what we understand, it was all just a giddy girl acting all, uh, juiced up over her man.
How Kevin Federline got dragged into this is unclear. But what is known is this: No matter how much Rodriguez is criticized for reckless off-field behavior, and how much he claims that the criticism hurts him, he continues to display a kind of public relations Tourette’s each time he dons street clothes. Here’s a man who makes a little more than $200,000 per game, sitting out Friday and Saturday due to “fatigue,” and getting a lap dance from Kate Hudson at 2 a.m. on one of those nights. Is that not good? Should I not have done that?
The Yankees are off today, and A-Rod and His Amazing Technicolor .213 Average are expected to be back in the lineup on Tuesday in Atlanta. But his lap dancing activities will be easier to schedule in the immediate future, as the team announced that he will be given one day off a week for the next month or so. Meanwhile, Yankees fans are looking for encouragement wherever they can find it.
