Everyone is down on this team for doing this, of course because everyone is uninformed the score was only 13 to 0 when this took place they were not up by 56 points at that time, now the final score ended up being 58 - 0 . I coach sports and see nothing wrong with this. Now if it would of been a big blowout when this took place that would be a different story.

Man it was a cool play ran by high school kids. No one was trying to embarrass anyone. It was simply like any other play like the statue of liberty or a fake field goal. Just admit the kid has talent!

It's a shame that so many sports sites do not research any facts when reporting a story. Here are some answers for the author and various poster comments:

#1 - This pass occurred on the second drive of the game when the score was 13-0.

#2 - Zachary has traditionally been a powerhouse team, so at that point Central assumed it would NEED that extra point cushion.

#3 - Zachary's coach used to coach at Central so CHS figured it would need to pull out all the stops to win. Who knew Zachary would completely unravel?

#4 - CHS is ranked #4 in the state. They made it to the state semi-finals last year, losing a close game to the eventual state champion.

#5 - Central is a public high school with all local kids, not a fancy private school that can "recruit" the best players. It's a small school located in a fairly rural, lower income area of South Louisiana. These are not snotty rich kids with attitudes.

#6 - Shedrick could catch a piece of confetti thrown at him - he's awesome & being recruited nationwide.

#7 - Will Briscoe & his twin brother Wes (who has played with a broken arm all season) are genuinely nice guys - not cocky showboats.

#8 - Whoever said Central's coach was classless has never once in their life met Coach Sid. He is literally the nicest person you will ever meet --- the kinda guy who would give you the shirt off his back in 20 degree weather.

When our house burned down a year ago, he gave us the team van (since our cars burned up too) DURING FOOTBALL SEASON for as long as we needed it. He also volunteered the entire football team to help us move, carry out all the burnt furniture, and clean up the burn site. All of the guys on the team wanted to help us any way they could.

And we're not bigwigs or people with money, we don't have a kid on the team, we don't even have a cheerleader. They just heard what happened to someone in their community and reached out on their own. We'll never forget how nice they were to us.

So, please stop all the hatin and assumptions. It was a crazy play that they had practiced repeatedly & it just happened to work during the 1st quarter of the game. No showboating, no Spurrier-like running up the score, just trying to protect an early lead, that's all. These guys deserve every accolade they get.

This 2 pt conversion made the score 15-0 in the first quarter, the final was 58-0. and the play was in the playbook because the opposing head coach used to run it in his flag football days.

For what it's worth, the score was 13-0 when the 2 pt play was run, and the head coach on the opposing team was the offensive coordinator the previous year at the school that threw the behind the back pass. You can debate away, but I will say that the head coach on the opposing team has his own bag of tricks.

Also, in response to a previous post, the baseball coach at that school is dominating his fantasy football league.
