NBC 29 in Charlottesville, VA reports a 39-year-old local woman has been sentenced to 14 months in prison for having sex with three different members of the William Monroe (VA) High School football team.

(There goes that Glamour Shots™ endorsement deal. Drat!)

Tammy Harlow Cox, who was originally facing 10 years of hard time, pleaded guilty to “five misdemeaner charges of having consensual sex with someone older than 15, but younger than 18.”

She originally faced two felony counts for her sexcapades with the boys, but those charges were somehow reduced to misdemeanors. (Apparently the judge saw her Facebook profile pic.)

Here was the reason for the reduction of the charges:

“That felony statute is used in prosecuting people in a supervisor role with a juvenile when they have inappropriate sexual relations. Ms. Cox did take some photographs of the football team but she had no official capacity, therefore the appropriate charge was the misdemeaner,” said Ron Morris, Greene County Commonwealth’s Attorney.

Doesn’t every high school have that one, creepy, hanger-on who “takes pictures” of the team? The man or woman who no one knows why they’re allowed to walk through the locker room before and after practice?

But usually that person is gender-neutral. So Ms. Harlow broke the mold.

And the best worst part of the original complaint:

According to the Newsplex, Cox’s arrest warrant states that she had sexual intercourse with the student athletes, sent them text messages containing “strong sexual content,” and that she sent them a picture of herself “where she exposes her full face and breast.”

I really feel for the kids in this case. Of course it has always been a badge of honor to sex an older woman when you’re at those ages (15!), but in the case of Ms. Harlow … let’s just say that, again, I feel badly for them.

And of course, if this was a man who had sex with three different underage girls, you can take the 14 months Harlow was sentenced to and turn it into 14 years.
