Two accomplished PGA Tour pros who have earnings in the millions slammed Tiger Woods in today’s issue of LIFE & STYLE magazine.
Ben Crane, who has a PGA Tour win under his belt and nearly $5 million in earnings said of his fellow PGA Tour member:
“He’s a phony and a fake and he can’t retain that squeaky-clean endorsement deal any longer.” Crane also believes Elin (Nordegren) may have known about Tiger’s other women. “She’s no fool,” Crane says, adding that perhaps Elin “turned a blind eye because of the money and the kids and the lifestyle he provides.”.”
Wow. Crane is the first legitimate PGA Tour pro to come out and harshly criticize Woods. And implying Nordegren knew of Woods’ extramarital affairs is also as nasty as it gets.
Though PGA Tour pro Charles Warren really unloaded on Nordegren, implying that she might’ve been a gold digger.
PGA golfer Charles Warren agrees that it may have been more than love that attracted Elin to Tiger but that she should definitely leave him in light of what’s happened. “She was very young when Jesper introduced them. She had stars in her eyes and maybe dollar signs too. But no, she should not stay with him. What kind of message would that send to her sister and mother and all the women out there? That your husband can be a bastard but as long as he makes the deal worthwhile, you’ll stay?”
The gloves are officially off. What this shows more than anything is the simmering animosity that Tour players have had for Woods for many years. Many obviously knew of his philandering lifestyle, and perhaps knew Nordegren’s personality as well.
The on-the-record comments from Crane and Warren give us our first, genuine look into what the golf world thinks of its biggest star. Quite obviously Woods has very little support from his peers. And if he doesn’t have that, what support does he actually have - that doesn’t relate to his selling golf balls and washing machines?

Now let’s see. This article says that Ben Crane has one PGA Tour win and $5 million in earnings, and Tiger has 71 wins, has been the singular reason for the huge increases in tournament purses, attracts higher TV ratings and bigger crowds when he is playing - especially when he is in the finals, has been the number 1 player in the world for over two years consecutively, and is the first athlete to reach the billion dollar mark. Could it be that the green-eyed monster is rearing its ugly head here?
And who is Charles Warren?
After this scandal, Tiger might never again be the player he was, or he might not be able to re-sign his huge endorsement deals which have earned him $110 million annually. He might even lose the No. 1 spot in the PGA’s ratings to Phil Mickelson or someone else. Nevertheless, no matter what happens, everyone in professional golf has to acknowledge and thank him for the positive strides that the sport has been able to make with him as its biggest star.

I was responding to the guy who used the word “dirt” to insinuate that we all do stuff like this, so it’s no big deal. I’ve heard rumors( from friends who are in PGA world) for years about how other golfers dispise him. Not for his golfing abilities-they admire that. But for his screwing around, which most PGA golfers know through the grapvine…..caddy’s and golfers talk. Wasn’t messing around that bothered him, but how he came off to media, as Mr. Nice Guy, where many said he’s a real asshat when camera’s arent on.
Will be interesting to see how is game is effected when he comes back on tour.

Not sure Elin would’ve gone after Tiger with a club if she “knew” of all this stuff. Doesn’t seem the two mesh. On another note, I remember when Tiger made a special trip to California for a surprise visit to his dad in his last days right before the Players Championship. Did anyone hear what John Daly’s( soon to be ex 4th wife) had to say about golfers and women? She made a claim that there is a lot of sex going on and it is not just Tiger and John. I am surprised that she would make that statement, it seems it could cause her a lot of trouble so I took her seriously.
I always told my kids to admire athletes for their skills but always remember they are just people and don’t make God’s out of them. I didn’t take my own advice for Tiger, I am VERY disappointed.

I am reading a lot of ignorant comments. Anybody who has a Tour card or won a tournament is a fabulous golfer. Just because they haven’t made as much as tiger dosen’t mean anything . No one else has either. Also the purses on tour were starting to get ridiculous before anybody heard of tiger. The last 20 years all sports money has been insane. The purses are leveling off and in some cases going down at some tournaments so don’t give tiger all the credit for them playing for the money they are playing for . Tiger, Jack, Tom, Lee, Greg,and Arnold are all a part of why they are playing for so much money.

Oh My God! If you people are going to continually call the women he had affairs with ’sluts’ and ‘whores’, would you PLEASE have the decency to call TIGER one as well - that’s right, Tiger Woods is a slut and a whore! Why are you just calling the girls these names?

This is what you do when you have millions. Everybody needs to stop judging and keep your own sh-t clean. Getting your rocks off with some strange has nothing with if Tiger loves his family. This goes out to all you so called preachers, righteous business men, morale experts and non sinners. Tiger didn`t never say he was perfect. To all you other haters raise your own damn kids, you be the role model. Just because he can hit a golf ball doesn`t mean his name is Jesus Christ.

if this were you or i nobody will care, i assure you there are other players on tour that do the same thing, woman throughing themselves at them, onthe bright side, they forgave John Daly and trust me golf fans will forgive him to, maybe even bigger crowds then before, i think he learned his lesson, now its time to move on

Daly is a mess too but at lest he has the ba(* s to say it-not Tiger everyone worshiped him because he was Mr. sqeaky clean-my favorite quote “you made your bed now lie in it”
And for everyone else who says “everyone has skeletons” Looks like Tiger has a whole cemetary! At least I know that I have character and have never cheated on my spouse and treat people with respect-Tiger lives in a world where many of us will never see but at least I have soemthing Tiger is missing-respect for myself and for people I care about.

to his credit, criticising Tiger, with 71 PGA victories.

I wouldn’t read “envy” into what Crane has to say about Woods.
Crane is one of the very few pro golfers who has had the courage to say anything critical about the Woods

To all of those holy rollers out there, get off of your high horse. If some reps from Nike, Gatorade, Tag, etc came up to you and said we will pay you this many millions of dollars to be our squeaky clean spokesman, there is not a single one of you that would turn the offer down.

One thing about all this that I find interesting is that Tiger has always used his ” I am way better than you” attitude to successfully intimidate his fellow tour players. Now that he has been exposed as NOT being superman, the good husbands on tour can hold their head high even if Tiger beats them and say, ” At least I never cheated on my wife”. Their wives will be proud to go home with their losing husbands and look at Elin and think “what a pitiful woman”.

I know both of these guys personally, in fact one was my college room mate. This is absolutely ridiculous, and neither one of these guys would ever make a comment like this about Tiger. This trashy tabloid should be ashamed of itself for trying to create a story that doesn’t exist!

These comments were not made by either golfer. In fact Warren’s wife texted all of the TOUR wives that this was false and the Charles never spoke to this filth rag magazine. They should both sue for defamation of character. This is the whole problem with this story everyone is trying to get their piece if the pie and sell more shi**y magazines. Leave the guy alone and let him deal with his situation. Yeah he made a mistake, but last time I checked no one is perfect. As for Ben & Charles? They should sue this rag mag.

Oh yeah and until ANY of you on this post actually tee it up in a PGA TOUR event I don’t want to hear any disparaging remarks about these guys being accomplished TOUR pros. They are BOTH great golfers and GREAT guys, so before you throw slurs at them get a grip of reality. It takes HUGE talent to play on the PGA TOUR no matter where you are on the $$$ list.
