Although I think The Masters is a more real possibility, Tiger did make his return at this event last year.

Reason #5: He hasn’t played the 2010.Accenture Matdch Play course ever. No one has to date save possibly Ogylvie who was in town recently for PR as reigning champion. The Ritz Carlton course used this year was built specifically for the Match Play. It opened for play late last year. The adjacent hotel opened in the last couple of months. Several pros like Oglivey who live in Scottsdale will play a practice round the week before. Short drive. Tiger lobbied to have the tournament moved form Carlsbad where the weather was too often bad. Some say the new course was a retention bonus for both he and Accenture. Despite a spotty record, he has a professed love for the el hombre contra el hombre format. Where playing the course is not paramount. Playing the other guy is. Easy to get in one head instead of a full field’s worth. But I do agree, I can’t see him showing up for this one either. And I have tickets to it.
